In Aruba not only can you buy a ford ranger, Isuzu small pickup, Toyota highlux or prado cruiser with many varieties of diesel and petrol engines but you can get a Nissan patrol with a diesel and drive it out onto the rocky beaches and all over the backside of the island... and we think we have freedom in the USA...

No we have laws and regulations which these cars probably don’t meet. Not every regulation is good, but it doesn’t mean the forbidden fruit is always better.

yeah - didn’t I hear the the trumpster just extended the chicken tax another 20 years? I suppose if Toyota thought enough folks would buy them, they’d build them in the states...

pretty sure that car in the video is same model as the rental I have, good thing speed rarely gets over 60 kph or 37 mph...

All of them except the old Patrol actually meet the maximum 5 stars available in goverment managed EuroCAP and ANZCAP vehicle safety regulations. It’s more likely that the company’s that make them don’t think the US will buy enough at the right price to make it worthwhile. Pretty much the same reason that the F Series and its ilk are North America markets only.
